En este artículo se realiza un análisis crítico teórico-práctico de los conceptos de innovación, extensionismo y transferencia de tecnología. A partir de los mismos, de sus fundamentos metodológicos y limitaciones, se presentan algunas alternativas al modelo lineal de transferencia de tecnología (TdT). Se discute acerca de una propuesta alternativa de innovación, en la cual el desarrollo de alianzas efectivas y la comprensión y síntesis de visiones compartidas resulta clave para enfrentar desafíos y problemas del entorno, cada vez más complejo y cambiante.

From November 1, 2012 to June 30, 2015, Michigan State University subcontracted Washington State University together with the University of Rwanda (UR) in order to deliver a gender sensitive Masters of Science in Agribusiness program at UR. The project had three specific objectives, to strengthen the human and institutional capacity of UR in teaching and applied research in agricultural sciences; to promote and support women's access to graduate education in agricultural sciences; and to extend UR's knowledge about, and women's expertise in, agricultural sciences to the community.

El Sistema de Extensión Agraria (SEA), es una de las formas de facilitar, trasmitir y conocer los saberes entre los productores, técnicos y decisores en las áreas de producción agrícola en Cuba. Se estudió el sistema de gestión de extensión agraria en el municipio Güines, provincia Mayabeque, con el objetivo de evaluar los factores que posibilitan la creación de un procedimiento integrado de gestión de la extensión agraria, basado en la colaboración de las formas de extensión y las entidades de ciencia e innovación que contribuyen al desarrollo agrario del territorio
Los objetivos del estudio fueron conocer la satisfacción por parte de los agricultores de los Servicios Científico Técnicos que se brindan en la actualidad y contribuir al rediseño del Sistema de Servicios Técnicos de apoyo a la agricultura en cada municipio, fortaleciendo el servicio para el control de plagas y enfermedades brindado por las Estaciones de Protección de Plantas (ETPP) y los Centros de Reproducción de Entomófagos y Entomopatógenos (CREE)
The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Collaborative Research on Grain Legumes (Legume Innovation Lab; LIL), supports ten multi-disciplinary collaborative research and institutional capacity strengthening subcontracted projects working in 13 Feed the Future countries in Africa and Central America and the Caribbean involving scientists at 10 US universities, 3 USDA/ARS research centers, and 23 developing country national agriculture research systems and universities.
