CBCMP II is aimed at strengthening the human and institutional capacity of Afghanistan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (MAIL). It also includes strengthening the linkages between MAIL, Provincial Directorates of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock and District Agriculture Offices.The primary objective is focused on improving the ministry’s institutional capacity by providing formal trainings and on the job training (coaching and mentoring) to civil servants in the target locations.
AAEP II has one overarching goal: building the capacity of MAIL and its Directorates to deliver effective extension services to rural clientele in targeted regions. This goal is supported by one specific objective: to build the capacity of extension workers to transfer useful information and technology to farmers.
The report assessed implementation of CBCMP II and AAEP II Program Activities,embracement of manuals and documents prepared and merger of two programs, and gave assessment conclusions and key recommendations for future similar programs.
