• La description des politiques et stratégies du Bénin dans les domaines du développement et de la réduction de la pauvreté, en particulier en vue de l’amélioration des conditions de vie des groupes vulnérables, dont les femmes rurales. Les politiques et stratégies qui orientent le développement du secteur agricole et rural sont aussi décrites, essentiellement eu égard aux aspects intéressant les groupes vulnérables, notamment les femmes rurales (Chapitre 3).
Défis Sud avait déjà consacré un numéro spécial au « genre » en développement en 2005. Neuf ans plus tard, dans ce numéro « genre et transformations de l’agriculture familiale », la revue entend croiser les dynamiques présentes dans ce type d’agriculture en abordant les rapports femmes-hommes, les relations de pouvoir et les changements sensibles dans les interactions sociales, culturelles et professionnelles entre femmes et hommes dans les exploitations agricoles familiales.
Accountability pressure to demonstrate how research for development projects will bridge the ‘output - outcome gap’ and achieve impacts ‘at scale’ has increased. Consequently, efforts to develop ‘Theory of Change’ (ToC) and impact pathways that steer programs and projects to outcomes have grown within Australia’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) strategy. In response, the cross agency Food Systems Innovation (FSI) initiative piloted the use of ToC thinking within Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR).
The globalisation of agrifood systems is a mega-trend with potentially profound nutritional implications. This paper describes various facets of this globalisation process and reviews studies on nutritional effects with a particular focus on developing countries. Results show that global trade and technological change in agriculture have substantially improved food security in recent decades, although intensified production systems have also contributed to environmental problems in some regions.

The objective of this Guide is to recommend a process and set of steps for an organization to prepare, establish and to develop effective Water Users Associations (WUA) suitable to Tajikistan. It summarizes lessons learned in Tajikistan, by two donor finance projects, which established and trained 97 WUAs. Establishment of WUAs is essential in order to solve existing problems in the irrigation sector and other challenges faced by farmers and other water users3 .
