Este libro busca facilitar procesos de toma de decisiones estratégicas concertadas, sobre el negocio y los mercados a los que estará dirigida la empresa asociativa rural, así como facilitar el diseño de estrategias que permitan desarrollar efectivamente este negocio y vincularse a cadenas de valor, mediante procesos incluyentes que propicien la participación activa y consciente de los socios, socias y colaboradores.
La propuesta metodológica incluida en esta guía busca apoyar a las organizaciones de productores y productoras en sus procesos de fortalecimiento para la prestación [o vinculación con terceros para la prestación] de servicios técnicos, empresariales, financieros y organizativos [complementarios a su negocio central] que son fundamentales para el desarrollo de las personas asociadas, y el éxito del negocio [o los negocios] de la organización.
La propuesta metodológica incluida en esta guía busca apoyar a las organizaciones de productores y productoras en sus procesos de elaboración de planes de negocio, o de revisión y/o ajuste de su plan de negocio actual, de manera que cuenten con un plan detallado para el desarrollo de su negocio central, al igual que de otros negocios complementarios; pero sobretodo, que le permita a la organización avanzar hacia su sostenibilidad, no sólo económica, sino también social y ambiental.
