This report is the result of a study that was carried out for the African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS), to make an inventory of experiences with ‘market-oriented agricultural advisory services’ (MOAAS). Lessons learned have been drawn from the cases studied. These lessons are the basis for guidelines formulated for setting up market-oriented agricultural advisory services.
TAP and its partners carried out regional surveys in Asia, Africa and Central America to assess priorities, capacities and needs in national agricultural innovation systems. This document provides a Regional synthesis report on capacity needs assessment for agricultural innovation in Africa. FARA was selected as Recipient Organization by FAO to facilitate TAP implementation in Africa. This is mainly due to its position as the umbrella organization bringing together and forming coalitions of major regional stakeholders in agricultural research and development.

This report explores the role of rural networks in enhancing innovation processes, questioning the features of the agricultural/rural networks could enhance farmers’ ability to co-innovate in cooperation with other actors. The prospect of this investigation is also to provide interesting and significant experiences that constitute examples for the ‘European Innovation Partnership’ by increasing farmers’ capacities to create, test, implement and evaluate innovations in cooperation with other rural actors.

This report has the aim of contributing to the PRO AKIS overall goal of exploring and identifying the possibilities, conditions and requirements of rural networks to enhance the farmers’ ability to create, test, implement and evaluate innovation in cooperation with other actors.In particular, the report presents two cases: the Small Fruit Cluster (SFC) and the Drosophila Suzukii Monitoring (DSM) network. En este documento el Centro Regional INTA Mendoza- San Juan buscó reflexionar sobre sus prácticas, interpretar críticamente sucesos ocurridos y los factores facilitadores y obstaculizadores para el logro de los objetivos deseados, pero sobre todo poder rescatar las lecciones aprendidas de este proceso analítico como parte de las características de la sistematización de experiencias.
El objetivo de este trabajo fue identificar, analizar y sintetizar las problemáticas que afectan la adopción innovaciones de riego en el Alto Valle del Río Negro y Neuquén y realizar un aporte a la gestión colectiva de la innovación. El riego como eje de investigación se fundamenta en que los actores consultados consideran que el estado y gestión del sistema de riego y drenaje y la eficiencia de los métodos de riego, son relevantes para el desarrollo y sustentabilidad de la actividad frutícola en la región.
