This document is part of the project “Strengthening the adaptive capacity to climate change in the fisheries and aquaculture sector of Chile”, executed by the Undersecretariat of Fisheries and Aquaculture and the Ministry of the Environment, and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, with funding from the Global Environment Facility. The work was implemented in four pilot coves: Caleta Riquelme (Tarapacá); Caleta Tongoy (Coquimbo); Caleta Coliumo (Biobío); and Caleta El Manzano-Hualaihué (Los Lagos).
The Sourcebook is the outcome of joint planning, continued interest in gender and agriculture, and concerted efforts by the World Bank, FAO, and IFAD. The purpose of the Sourcebook is to act as a guide for practitioners and technical staff inaddressing gender issues and integrating gender-responsive actions in the design and implementation of agricultural projects and programs. It speaks not with gender specialists on how to improve their skills but rather reaches out to technical experts to guide them in thinking through how to integrate gender dimensions into their operations.
Grants for agricultural innovation are common but grant funds specifically targeted to smallholder farmers remain relatively rare. Nevertheless, they are receiving increasing recognition as a promising venue for agricultural innovation. They stimulate smallholders to experiment with improved practices, to become proactive and to engage with research and extension providers. The systematic review covered three modalities of disbursing these grants to smallholder farmers and their organisations: vouchers, competitive grants and farmer-led innovation support funds.
The Chile Country gender assessments (CGAs) identify gender-responsive policies and actions are strategic for poverty reduction, economic growth, human well-being, and development effectiveness. The report proposes priority policy objectives: increase female labor force participation, especially for low-income households, and reduce discontinuity in women's work experience. The report focus on the gender equality in the labor markets; improve access to financial services; expand access to business networks, business development services, and technology for women entrepreneurs.

Este estudio tiene como principal orientación recoger, documentar y analizar experiencias relevantes de empoderamiento de las mujeres rurales en Chile, en vistas a otorgar orientaciones a las políticas públicas que contribuyan al desarrollo y mitigación de la pobreza.
El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el caso específico del programa “Formación y capacitación para mujeres campesinas” del Instituto de Desarrollo Agropecuario de Chile, ejecutado en convenio con la Fundación para la Promoción y el Desarrollo de la Mujer. La FAO, IBM et Microsoft cherchent des moyens concrets et durables d’utiliser l’intelligence artificielle dans le respect des principes d’éthique approuvés par le pape François 24 septembre 2020, Rome - Lors d'une manifestation organisée aujourd'hui à l'Académie pontificale pour la vie, l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (FAO), IBM et Microsoft ont réitéré leur engagement en faveur de la mise au point de formes d'intelligence artificielle (IA) qui soient inclusives et promeuvent des moyens durables de concrétiser la sécurité alimentaire et nutritionnelle.
Lors de la conception de projets, il importe de faire intervenir les parties prenantes locales le plutôt possible afin de veiller à ce que les activités de renforcement des capacités répondent vraiment à leurs besoins. Les processus multipartites peuvent aussi mener à à une plus grande appropriation des activités et des résultantes des projets. La présente étude de cas offre un exemple de processus multipartite mis en place avec succès au Soudan pour renforcer les systèmes d’information sur la sécurité alimentaire et la nutrition dans quatre États.
