Agricultural research continues to be a good investment. The studies show that investments in international and national agricultural research account for almost all of the total factor productivity (TFP) growth in SSA and large shares of agricultural growth globally. The existing agricultural research institutions have, on average, delivered rates of return to public investment above 30-40%, which is much higher than the 5-10% available to other public investments or the 2-5% cost of borrowing public funds.
Agricultural Innovation System (AIS) is a collection of institutions enabling agricultural and food system transformation in a country. Any attempt to engage in emergency interventions by institutions and bounce back with higher levels of resilience requires strong organizational and human capacity as a prerequisite. What role do these institutions play in emergencies such as COVID-19 and how can they bounce back after such a crisis is over? What can be done to help these institutions build resilience capacity for such recovery?
International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) partnered with the Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI) in 2011 to conduct a series of policy dialogues on the prioritization of demand-driven agricultural research for development in South Asia. The Korea National University of Agriculture and Fisheries (KNUAF)'s innovative program is helping South Korea overcome issues relating to its ageing rural population while simultaneously developing elite human resources to establish and promote a highly competent agriculture sector. Since its inception, the KNUAF has been producing young highly competent professionals to manage its high tech agriculture either as entrepreneurs or farm managers.

Esta es una publicación que busca asociar la experiencia del Programa Mujeres Ey Desarrollo Económico Local-MyDEL en Guatemala, con rutas de análisis para lograr el escalamiento de políticas públicas que potencien los derechos económicos de las mujeres, que abran espacios para su empoderamiento y participación en la gobernanza, y que favorezcan de manera sostenida su acceso a activos productivos; especialmente a nivel de los territorios.
El documento presenta una lectura general sobre la situación de las mujeres rurales en Colombia desde un enfoque territorial. Para su realización se acudió a una amplia revisión documental, pero también al encuentro con mujeres y experiencias claves frente al tema.
