Gender equality is one of the ten core principles of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security. This guide aims to assist in its implementation through the achievement of responsible gender-equitable governance of land tenure. The guide focuses on equity and on how land tenure can be governed in ways that address the different needs and priorities of women and men.
The Sourcebook is the outcome of joint planning, continued interest in gender and agriculture, and concerted efforts by the World Bank, FAO, and IFAD. The purpose of the Sourcebook is to act as a guide for practitioners and technical staff inaddressing gender issues and integrating gender-responsive actions in the design and implementation of agricultural projects and programs. It speaks not with gender specialists on how to improve their skills but rather reaches out to technical experts to guide them in thinking through how to integrate gender dimensions into their operations.
This book represents the proceedings of the FAO international technical conference dedicated to Agricultural Biotechnologies in Developing Countries (ABDC-10) that took place in Guadalajara, Mexico on 1-4 March 2010. A major objective of the conference was to take stock of the application of biotechnologies across the different food and agricultural sectors in developing countries, in order to learn from the past and to identify options for the future to face the challenges of food insecurity, climate change and natural resource degradation.
The goal of this tool is to help facilitators examine the roles that women and men play in an innovation partnership and to better integrate their specific needs and priorities in the interventions planned for the innovation partnership. Gender analysis of the innovation partnership can also be done throughout project implementation to monitor how men and women are integrated and benefit from the project and to reduce the gender gaps.
This book collects 24 stories of change from the EU-funded CDAIS project. Launched in 2015, the overall objective of CDAIS is to make agricultural innovation systems more efficient and sustainable in meeting the demands of farmers, agri-business and consumers. The stories are about the eight pilot countries - in Africa, Asia and Latin America - in which CDAIS operates. Este documento tiene como propósito aportar elementos de análisis de género en las cadenas de valor para identificar potencialidades y limitaciones de las mujeres dentro de las cadenas, la relación con la autonomía económica y el impacto en la mejora de sus capacidades para generar recursos propios, controlar activos y propiciar la plena participación en las decisiones que afectan sus vidas y entorno.
El material presentado reúne un conjunto de instrumentos metodológicos de utilidad en procesos inclusivos y sostenibles. La primera parte contiene tres listas de verificación para la incorporación de criterios de género en programas, proyectos, propuestas y protocolos de investigación y adaptación de tecnología hacia el desarrollo territorial.
Este documento tiene como propósito brindar recomendaciones para integrar el enfoque de género y equidad en las empresas rurales asociativas. Están basadas en la experiencia de MAP Noruega con la Escuela de Formación Empresarial (EFET), en la estrategia de género y equidad de MAP y en otras experiencias reportadas en la literatura sobre este mismo tema.
