The aim of this study was to investigate the vulnerabilities of women involved in a bean value chain development intervention at the Maendeloe Innovation Platform in Eastern DRC. Specifically, the paper first discusses the roles of women and men in the value chain, what production resources and benefits they access and control, the role of the IP as a vehicle for women’s empowerment, and identifies women’s gender needs. Secondly, the paper identifies women’s vulnerabilities, and the capacities that the IP could build on, to support their participation in bean value chain development

A number of improved technologies have been generated wlth the efforts made so far and the superiority of some of the technologies over the traditional practices has already been proved, at least for the major commodities.

Integrating cropping, livestock, and forestry in these regions can increase the eco-efficiency of agricultural production. This chapter presents a case study of an integrated crop, livestock, and forestry system in Brazil. The study area is in Goiás State in the Cerrado region, a vast savanna covering almost one quarter of Brazil's land area.

Este informe, pretende dar a conocer el proceso de conformación y fortalecimiento de la Cadena de Valor de la Malanga a través de innovaciones implementadas en sus diferentes eslabones Por lo tanto, dentro de este documento se destacan: i) El proceso de aprendizaje crítico que hatenido lugar en las distintas etapas de construcción de la cadena, ii) Los resultados obtenidos por la acción colectiva de los actores de la Alianza, y iii) Las lecciones aprendidas durante todo el proceso, las cuales se convertirán en herramientas para la toma de decisiones en futuras iniciativas.
