The sustainable agricultural intensification research and learning in Africa (SAIRLA) project is a five-year program (2015–2020) funded by the UK Department of International Development. The project seeks to generate new evidence and design tools to enable governments, investors and other key actors to deliver more effective policies and investments in sustainable agricultural intensification (SAI) that strengthen the capacity of poorer farmers’, especially women and young people, to access and benefit from SAI.
This study assessed intermediate results of an investment intended to support climate change adaptation and resilience-building among farmers’ cooperatives in Rwanda. The assessment was based on a purposive sampling survey of farmers’ perspectives conducted in sites in 10 programme intervention districts of the country’s 30 districts.

La agricultura familiar de los países del Sur constituye uno de los sectores más directamente afectados y amenazados por los cambios climáticos. La cuestión de la adaptación, y en particular, la de la adaptación de la agricultura, ha ido ganando terreno en el transcurso de la última década en las agendas políticas nacionales e internacionales.
Este libro tiene como objetivos impulsar el fortalecimiento de los vínculos entre práctica científica, anclaje territorial y visión de futuro. Con ello, se recrea una cultura de trabajo que reconociéndose en la trayectoria institucional que cimentó el liderazgo mundial del INTA, incorpora las herramientas que garantizan el despliegue de nuestras mejores capacidades para comprender las complejidades de las coyunturas que nos desafían.
El objetivo de este trabajo ha sido caracterizar la evolución de la Extensión Rural de nuestro país en los últimos 30 años. Para ello, han sido analizadas las disertaciones, paneles, conferencias y trabajos presentados en las diferentes jornadas realizadas durante el periodo transcurrido desde 1983 hasta 2016.
The purpose of this research was to investigate factors influencing agricultural personnel and consultants’ attitude and behavioral intention to use precision agricultural technologies. The survey research and multistage random sampling were used to collect data from 183 agricultural consultants in Agricultural Engineering and Technical Consulting Services Companies in Iran
Agricultural information is transferred through social interactions; therefore, ties to agricultural informants and network structures within farmers’ local neighborhoods determine their information-gathering abilities. This paper uses a spatial autoregressive model that takes account of spatial autocorrelation to examine such network connections, including friendship networks and advice networks, upon farmers’ knowledge-gathering abilities during formal agricultural training.
This book discusses innovation problems and opportunities for family farming in the different regions of the American continent, as well as the role of hemispheric, regional and national agrifood research systems. Likewise, it provides a description of the main innovation actions and projects promoted by IICA, and the main success cases over recent years.
As the PAEPARD project is complex and multi-faceted, ensuring that appropriate information is made available to users in a timely manner and in a form that can be easily understood and used has been a major challenge.
