This paper has been prepared under the guidelines provided by the TAP Secretariat at the FAO, as a contribution to the G20 initiative TAP, which includes near 40 partners and is facilitated by FAO. Its purpose is to provide a Regional synthesis report on capacity needs assessment for agricultural innovation, with capacity gaps identified and analyzed, including recommendations to strengthen agricultural innovation systems (AIS) and draft policy recommendations to address the capacity gaps.
The present report is based on the authors' visits to Bolivia, Honduras and Nicaragua, during June-August 2004 in order to develop an initial understanding of innovation processes and identifying stakeholders working with national innovation processes. It also review the experiences of the invited Latin American participants in the 7th Global Conference of Competitiveness Institute (entitled "Building Innovative Clusters for Competitive Advantage") in September 2004 and finally presents suggestion for further activities.
The CDAIS Communication strategy for 2015-2018 aims to contribute to CDAIS project's core objective of making agricultural innovation systems more efficient and sustainable in meeting the demands of farmers, agribusiness and consumers. The XII National Encounter of Smallholder Farmer Innovators of Honduras was held in the city of Siguatepeque from 3-5 September 2014. One hundred twenty smallholder men and women farmers, as well as decision makers participated at this meeting. The meeting was a space to exchange experiences of smallholder farmer innovations, as well as to celebrate a seed fair to exchange seeds, local varieties and traditional knowledge.

Este informe describe las actividades de cooperación técnica del CATIE en honduras, los resultados en capacitación, destaca programas y proyectos y trae propuestas de mejoras en la integración institucional logrando ofrecer mejores servicios.
Este informe inicia con un análisis de sector agropecuario hondureño y la revisión sobre el marco legal e institucional que rige al sector agrícola. Luego, se analiza por separado cada uno de los cuatro rubros de producción (café, cacao, ganadería y granos básicos) en cuanto a políticas, leyes e institucionalidad propia en los sectores priorizados por el MAP II (Programa Agroambiental Mesoamericano II).
El documento tiene como objetivo analizar los avances realizados por países de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC) en el fortalecimiento de la institucionalidad vinculada a la agricultura, el cambio climático y la seguridad alimentaria. El documento destaca iniciativas innovadoras, en ámbitos como la formulación de políticas, el desarrollo de marcos legales, el fomento de la investigación y la innovación, el desarrollo de mecanismos de financiamiento, y la gestión de riesgos climáticos, entre otros. Este trabajo de investigación busca entender cuáles son los factores institucionales y políticos que pueden impulsar o desincentivar la adopción de prácticas de adopción de prácticas agrícolas sostenibles adaptadas al clima (ASAC) por parte de los pequeños productores, en el caso de un país, Honduras, con una mirada tanto a nivel nacional como a nivel local.
